Holbrook to Phoenix via Arizona Hwy 77, Hwy 260, Hwy 87
We would like to travel in our 40' Class A pulling a toad from Holbrook to Gold Canyon in October. We would use Hwy 77 to Hwy 260 into Lakeside then backtrack on Hwy 260 into Payson and finally Hwy 87 into Phoenix and was wondering what to expect for road and conditions.

We traveled that route a few years ago, and probably wouldnt do it again. Driving through the Salt River Canyon is slow going with lots of sharp curves and switch backs. A better route is 260 and 87 down through Payson.

We're hoping to visit family in Lakeside and friends in Payson. We are coming from Oregon. Final destination is Gold Canyon. On closer look, we would use Hwy 77 to Hwy 260 into Lakeside then backtrack on Hwy 260 into Payson and finally Hwy 87 into Phoenix.
