Hwy 101 North from Novato, Ca. to Oregon
We have a 34' M/H with Toad. I know there are construction areas due to last years slides in several areas of 101. Has anyone driven either North or South thru this section of Hwy 101 lately? Any problems we should know about or consider avoiding entirely? Thanks for your comments

Avoid driving thru Frisco! Did that last April and was not fun at all. I had 6" between me and the parked cars, and 6" between me and the moving cars on my left. DW kept saying I was too close to the parked cars, I had to keep saying I was too close to the cars on my side too.
I will be heading that way in June again. I thought highway 1 was the issue, not the 101?

Novato is north of San Francisco.

How were you planning to get to Novato? A very good way is off I-5 to Hwy 12 towards Napa and 37 to Novato then north on 101. I don't know of 101 north closings but it's a very good highway with a RV. We've done it multiple times with our 40' motorhome towing the Jeep. (Hwy 1 isn't recommended) Hwy 101 is excellent all the way through Oregon and Washington.

Went south in January, the trip and road conditions are fine. Some work on the road at spots but that had been ongoing for years. Go around Frisco.

Only issues I have had were heavy traffic near Novato and between Novato and Ukiah the roadbed was kind of beat up and exercised the suspension system. Some twisty road sections between Leggett and Redcrest but nothing of any concern. Have traveled this route many times.

Been that way several times. Last year there was some stop and go because of the slides but otherwise a nice drive if you aren't in a hurry.
