Hwy 20 to Hwy 101

We have a 36' Motorhome towing. Traveling NB on I5 we want to cross over to 101 N of San Francisco. Is Hwy 20 through Clear Lake a good option?

I 80 to Hwy 37 to 101 is another option, we use it all the time. Hwy 20 isn't bad except in a couple of spots.

Yes, this is a good route. We have driven this route three times in our 36 foot MH and have very much enjoyed the drive.

It’s fine. From Williams up to ClearLake is a little bit of a climb but not a problem. When you get to the lake, you wind along the shore for a while and it is a little slow going. No problem for us and we have done it several times in our 43’ coach and toad.

West of Williams, as you course thru the hills, pay attention! Curves are sharp (10 mph at one or more spots) and there are short, but steep hills (you will travel up and down). At Clear Lake, drive slowly, for curves and pedestrians.
