Hwy 231

I am planning a trip in a few weeks and I am wondering what the road is like between Montgomery Al. to Marianna Fl.
hwy 231? Driving a 43ft DP and a 28 ft enclosed trailer.
2 lane-4 lane lot of traffic signals etc?

Us 231 is a four lane highway all the way to Panama city, FL. It is a good road to travel but you will encounter some cities with local traffic. Should have no problem with your RV. Enjoy the trip and safe travels!

We've done this section a half dozen times, the last several days ago coming south. 231 is OK. Your gps will take you to I85 East to 231. You will have city traffic getting out of Montgomery and many stop lights south to I10, but nice 4 lane. The many stoplights are frustrating to me however. Sometimes you just get up to speed for a few miles and then are stopping again. An option we like is to take I65 further south to Georgiana, then 55 to 331 and Defuniak at I10. 2 lanes but nice roads, and a few scenic towns like Florala. This is about 50 miles farther though so roughly an hour. I like to think I loose an hour stopping for all the lights in 231 so maybe its a wash. Either way and you'll be fine. We stopped overnight in Dothan once, Cherry Blossum RV I think it was. Good stop, EZ in and out. Safe Travels!

Great road, 4 lanes, plenty of fuel stops. Mr D's RV Park is just on the north side of Ozark, another good place to stop for the night, $20 full hook up pull thrus and I think they had cable.
