My GPS is having me take this route instead of through Jackson, MS. Years ago I have driven this road in my car and it was OK. But this time I will be in a 41' motorhome plus a toad. How is this road now for driving in my motorhome to avoid Jackson.

It has been a few years since I went to Jackson and at that time it was a construction nightmare. Is this construction over?

I would travel via I-20, south on I-55 if your destination is Crystal Springs. I-55 South is being widened from I-20 to Byram, MS, but it is not bad.

The hwy is in good condition, but I would not take Hwy 27. Hwy is heavy on log trucks and semi's trying to beat the truck scale on the interstates. One of the most deadly hwys in Mississippi. I say this based on my son being a State trooper and having seen the worst/most deadly accidents of his career on Hwy 27. Not sure which direction you're are coming from but I would stay on the interstates as much as possible. FYI MDOT has lowered Hwy 18 bridge weights from Utica to Port Gibson. Your motor home will exceed the weight limit.

Thanks, I will stay on I-20 and go through Jackson to get on I-55. I remember seeing a lot of logging trucks, but I did not know the semi's were avoiding the scales and how deadly this road is.
