Hwy 285 from Fairplay, CO to Morrison,CO

Looks like this route is not in the mountains? Two lane road? Any info on 24' motorhome towing a small car?

No problem with your RV. You'll have some 6% hills but not bad. The areas are not far north of Fairplay. You'll be at 10,000' elevation.

Yes, it’s in the mountains. 2 lane from Fairplay to Bailey. 3 lanes (2 lanes east, 1 west) from Bailey into Denver. Easy road overall, but do watch your speed on the downhill side from Bailey eastward.

Regards,

Randy

We lived in Conifer (just west of Morrison) for years and drove this route many times. Nice ride with some steep long grades (all 6% or less). Nice ride.

Only bad part is Crow Hill going east.
Long, steep, and you don't get a run at it.

I drove that road both directions last weekend in 36ft motorhome towing 3/4 flatbed. It is not a problem, but as others have said there are hills. Crow hill just outside of Bailey is a pretty good pull. Just don't let speed get away from you going downhill, gear down, keep it slow.
