Hwy. 395 Pendleton to Burns, Oregon

What are your experiences driving this road? I see warnings in my Mountain Directory and would like real RV people comments. Thanks!

It's an absolutely beautiful drive and we've done it a few times with our 40' MH. There are lots of ups and down in the 6% +- range but they're not terribly long. With your 22' you shouldn't have any issues whatsoever. It's good practice if you haven't done a lot of mountain driving. Enjoy.

Thanks, twogypsies. We have been able to get in some mountain driving, sometimes not really expecting it and we were fine. However, we are not wanting to take on some "famous" crazy roads.

As already stated, it is a good 2 lane road. Yes, twisty in some spots, and some ups and downs (Battle Mountain area)!! Some good campgrounds along the way, esp along the N Fork John Day River.

I travel that almost yearly to visit family in WA with the equipment below, the 5W is 14K. The Burns RV park has nice shaded large spaces if your looking for a place to stay.

Any questionable highway you may have could be on YouTube especially if it's a scenic highway. Just search using the hwy # you want and perhaps a town or two. Here is part of your planned trip. I didn't watch it and it's a long one so just skip ahead and scan sections to see what the highway is like.
