Hwy 84?

What are the road conditions on Hwy 84 from Dothan, AL to Natchez, Miss.? looking for an alternative to I-10.

I drove if from Laurel MS to Natchez in Jan and here is my blog comment-
"So we exited I-59 at Laurel, MS and traveled west on US-84 but I would not consider it as a smooth alternative to the interstates as only about a third of it was really good road and it had a lot of coach rattling sections."

The highway is not bad, but it does have some rough stretches on the section I routinely drive. (between Laurel and Natchez). I found once you find the rough stretches move to the right lane and it will be much smoother. Very little traffic and the most direct route.

From my experience four years ago, the operative term would be "corrugated."

Thing being equal I prefer US-80/82. I don't recall any horrible bounces or jounces but the constant roughness did kind of wear me out.
