Just wanted to let everyone know...

Due to recent flooding, Interstate 10 EAST and WEST bound will be closed starting at 7:00 am today (March 15) at the Louisiana - Texas border

Also, I-59 North in Louisiana is also being closely monitored. Currently, the roadway is still open, but that could change quickly as the rivers and tributaries continue to crest.

Thanks for the update. We are heading that way and watching the weather.

Any recommended routes?

I-20 or I-30 if you're east or west bound.
I-55 if north or south bound.

Headed west. Wondering about I-49. LDOT shows a lot of road problems, but Interstate looks okay. Is this a heavily flooded area?

The only issues with I-49 would be near Shreveport. I've not heard of closures there..but please check the LA State Police site before leaving.

The water that closed I-10 came up overnight.

Ahhh..thats life here in the 'shady subtropical outpost" that we call Louisiana!!

I-49 has been closed periodically between Natchitoches and Shreveport..... not sure what the current status is, but I would expect it to have issues further south.... from Natchitoches to Alexandria... as the waters move down stream.

Please contact the La State Police to be sure of any route through Louisiana for the next few days.
