I-10 George Wallace Tunnel in Mobile, AL
Does anyone have information on tunnel restrictions going through the George Wallace Tunnel in Mobile, Alabama?
Just wondering if there are any LP gas restrictions, like there are in some tunnels.

I've been through that tunnel four times in the last year without any problems. There are some restricted cargo signage at each end, but the propane tanks typically in the MH category don't usually meet the definition. Lanes are wide, tunnel is tall, and other then that pesky tight turn (East Bound) it's a pretty easy tunnel. If there are restrictions, I probably just missed em!

No problem with I-10 in Mobile, AL. We did it four times last year.
As an FYI do not use US-90 if you are 12' or over.

I live in the area and use the Wallace Tunnel all the time; you have no restrictions to worry about either in cargo or size.
However there is another much older tunnel called the Bankhead Tunnel that parallels the Wallace Tunnel that you cannot fit through. Ironically most GPS units will try to route you through the older tunnel and as a result it bears many scars from those misdirections. Last year there was a factory-new Prevost being transported across country to a dealer and when I went by it's nose was stuck about 15 feet into the opening.
To be sure just do not get off of I-10 and good travels to you.

I almost went through that HWY 90 tunnel. I had to back up 8 feet with toad to turn over a median to get on a bypass. GPS took me there instead of putting me back on I 10. What a mess it was and could of been. Lesson learned, I bought Lowclearance.COM and put it on my gps. Great program.

When going thru the I-10 tunnel, don't be suprised if you get shot with a radar coming out.
