I-40 to Bryce NP
Coming from the East, will be traveling on I-40.
What roads do you take from I-40 north to get to Bryce?
What will route be from Bryce to Zion NP?
Will be towing Toad, want to miss tunnel.

There are different ways to get to Bryce but if you're on I-40, take Hwy 89 north out of Flagstaff, AZ to Hwy 12 to Bryce.
From Bryce, to avoid the tunnels, go back on 12 to 89 north to Hwy 20 west to I-15 south to Hwy 9 east to Zion.
Another way is more scenic - 89 south to just past the Arizona border at Fredonia. Then Hwy 389 west which become Utah 59 to Hwy 9.
Hope you're not planning to go there now! Is this for the future?

Which ever way you go, watch the weather. Flag gets a lot of snow.

Tunnel is cake. They stop traffic for you and you drive down the middle. Very easy.
If you're longer than 65 feet with the toad, they will make you unhook.

Will be leaving, 1st of May. Arrive at Bryce May 9th. Was planning on doing a lay over in Holbrook AZ. Need best route from there to Bryce.
This trip is 4-5 days Bryce, 4-5 days Zion, shy 2 weeks in Moab. Head back east, Memorial Day weekend. (Do not know exact days staying at each location at this time.)
Have to figure way home from Moab, I-70 don't know

i-40 to bryce to zion to i-70 seems a bit of backtracking. why not zion first then bryce?
just double check the restrictions on the zion -mt carmel tunnel to ensure you are allowed through it.
may should be gorgeous! have fun!
