I-5 Redding or Red Bluff...

West to 101. In your opinion, which is better/easier to drive, 299 or 36?

Thanks in advance.

Don't take 36. It is a goat trail, well maybe a decent logging road, for about half or more of it.

As RRR said, stay off 36. Lots of sharp turns, up and down grades, narrow, crumbling asphalt, patches on patches. I never understood how they could call that a state highway.
