Good idea. Avoid as much of Denver as possible.

There are no height restrictions on I-70. Semi trucks use the interstates.

Personally, I'd take secondary highways all across. You'll see more of the countryside than on the interstate. You don't need a GPS going across the mid-section of the country!

I-70

A little distance east of Denver there is a road that goes north off I-70 near the airport and ties back into the freeway from Denver to Fort Collins(I think that is I-25}, To avoid Denver I took this road and did not see any signs about a toll until there was no place to get off this road and never any mention of the price of the toll even then.. A few weeks later I received a bill from the toll authority for $43.00. I would have driven through Denver if I had the choice.
