I-95 South to I-10 Bypass with Hwy 84?

Heading South from Hatteras to Destin. Maps has us going to I-95 to Jacksonville and catching I-10. I noticed Hwy 84 South of Savannah can get me down to Thomasville and then 319 to I-10.

to Destin

I have gone both ways. US84 is the road less traveled various towns you go through just have to watch your speed some 4 lane some 2 lane but decent road. Connecting up to i10 south of Thomasville is easy.

When I'm coming down I-95 south heading to home ( Bradenton FL ) I take the cutoff north of the junction of i10 and i95. I take exit 373 go west on 200 to 301 which brings me to I-10 at Baldwin FL. This avoids the hassle of going direct from 95 to 10 . This is almost all 4 lane, couple towns to go through but easy driving. At Baldwin there are a couple of truck stops for fuel but I would plan on fuel either after Baldwin or before as those Baldwin truck stops are super crowded all the time. From Baldwin west bound i-10 is pretty good. Further west you go the less traffic you have. I find it pretty easy driving.

Lots of construction north of Baldwin a couple of weeks ago. No idea now.
