I20 from El Paso to Atlanta. Where to stay?

Hi all! We are looking to spend about 3 weeks getting from El Paso to Atlanta. We are going to take I20 east.

Are there any RV resort type places we can stay at along the way? Higher end.

What are your recommendations?

Thanks!

You will find it very hard to find a place to stay between El Paso and Abilene Texas. The RV parks in that area are full due to the oil patch workers. So plan accordingly. We just went through there a couple of weeks ago, could not find a park, and ended up overnighting at a highway rest stop along I-20.

Fernbrook in Longview is a beautiful resort. Convenient to I-20.

I live outside Weatherford, TX which is about 8 hours from El Paso. Might make a good stop on the first day.

There is a place here (just about 3 miles south of I-20) called "Hooves N Wheels RV Park and Horse Motel. I pass by it pretty much daily and see lots of very nice RVs there. I've never seen horses, but we are in the midst of horse country here.

Might make a good place to consider - https://www.hoovesnwheels.com/

If you can make it two more hours to Canton, Texas (Exit 527) you'll find a VERY upscale RV resort there called Mill Creek Ranch Resort (https://millcreekranchresort.com/). We have stayed there and it is very nice with lakes, pool, spa, etc. And, if you're coming through around the first of the month there is the World Famous Canton First Monday Trade Days.

Sunset RV Park (https://sunsetrvparks.com/) near Tuscaloosa, AL is a good overnight stop.

There isn't much between El Paso and the Dallas area so just plan one-night stops.

Use RVParkReviews for some help.

I-10 would be my preference - at least you'd have access to 'Hill Country' of Texas and it would be warmer if you're planning to do this trip now. The Fredericksburg area of Texas is very nice.

On the west side of DFW (just west of Weatherford) check out Oak Creek Resort. On the east side near Terrell we prefer Bluebonnet Ridge.

X2 on OakCreek. We have stayed there several times. Very nice.

About 9-10 miles west of a Weatherford on north side of I-20.

Whistle Stop in Abilene, Tx is a brand new park. I drove our motorhome there and parked for three days. The wife lived there while I was having surgery at the local hospital. I found the staff very friendly and plenty of room between sites. No shade trees yet. You can type in RV parks in Abilene, Tx and it will list there phone number. I suggest getting RV Parky App on your phone. It can be very useful in finding rv parks near you location when ready to stop, or even use to plan ahead. Enjoy the trip.

Thank you all for the recommendations. It seems there are many top end RV parks near Dallas but after that not much. I really like concrete pads. I am getting sick of dirt and highway noise all the time.

I may have to consider taking the 10 instead....

I do have most of the RV park apps and All-stays et. There is still no substitute to recommendations from people like you guys who have stayed at these places.

Our favorite are Class A only high end parks but they are far and few.
