Idaho 55 & 95

Has anyone driven Idaho 55 & 95 north from Boise, ending up in Lewiston? We are driving a 32 foot motorhome, towing a car. Would want to drive it near the end of April. I see there is a summit that could be problematic, but am wondering about the width of the road and if it's RV friendly. Thanks!

We have driven it a couple of times, and it's a good road. Can't vouch for the weather, though. Just came from Boise through Wyoming and had to dodge snowstorms.

Bill,
North of Boise hiway 55 has many pullouts you can use and several miles after Banks you will cross the Payette River on Rainbow Bridge, this bridge is narrow but many large RV's cross it, just go slow. The rest of the trip is a nice drive but there is a long climb at White Bird, other than that have a nice drive. Do you have a Mountain West Directory?

Thanks for all the input. We do not have a Mountain West Directory. That bridge can't be any narrower than the two we crossed in Kentucky at Land Between the Lakes--thankfully there were no big trucks coming the other way!

Another thing you can do is go to Google and zoom in and follow Hiway 55 north from Boise, you can see the bridge. I do this all of the time just to get a good look at the roads, works great for me.

Don't know about Hwy 55 but I run a big truck up Hwy 95, some tight turns but this is in a 70' long truck/trailer. Always enjoy the ride in any weather.

Just drove 55 & 95 from Boise to CDA. Spent the night alone the banks of the Salmon River in a turn out. Simple Beautiful. No problems at all.
