Jackson Hole to Greeley, CO

Hello all,

We use our RV, a little 38ft FR Geogetown, as a home from home when going to dog shows. In the year we have had it, we have confined ourselves to the west coast, going as north as Seattle, and all the way to San Diego. But in August we are combining an event in Greeley, CO with a long held desire of my father in law to spend time in Jackson Hole, where he was raised. We have made reservations at the much-described downtown RV park, and are looking forward to using that as our base to explore the tetons. We have given ourselves a leisurely 2 days to get to Greeley - I am looking for a recommendation for where to spend the night enroute - vista's and charm are our desire - and dog-friendly.

Many thanks all.

Take 89/191 out of Jackson to Green River and on to CO Hwy 40. Take 40 toward Steamboat Spring to 14 just beyond and on to Fort Collins, CO. A prettier drive from Jackson would be to go into Teton Nat'l Park and take 26/287 out of the eastern side of the park toward Dubois. 287 to Rawlins then I-80 to Walcott then 130 south to Walden, CO and pick up Hwy 14.

The second suggestion. Stay in Rawlins at the Western Hills RV Park. It's a big gravel parking lot, so no vista/view, but it's above the highway and much quieter. Tell them you want quiet and make a reservation early. They will have a space if you just drop in, but if you get there late, it will not be best.
