Key West to Fort Myers - rt.41 vs rt.75

Will be traveling to Florida on some business in Miami and also Key West toward the end of February.
Which road tends to be better for a 36' Class A to travel from KW to FM? Planner is taking me up to 75 then across but I noticed 41 might be less miles. Anyone happen to know the speed limits on these roads?

Leaving from South Jersey we'll be staying at Palm Beach Travelers RV Park while going back and forth to Miami then spending a few days at Boyd's in Key West. I haven't picked a place in the Fort Myers area yet but friends who we are visiting live pretty close (3 miles) to Southwest Florida International airport.

Just did this the opposite way in December. We went 41. It was great. Lots of places to take airboat tours in the Everglades, if that's of interest. We didn't do it and regret it - maybe next time. Just a 2-lane road but no problems or backups. I think on 75 you may miss too much of seeing the Everglades, whereas on 41, you're up close and personal...

Thanks. I might enjoy the airboat but not sure if my wife will be okay with it. Sounds like fun though so I'm going to check it out!
I was thinking maybe 41 wouldn't have much traffic so it wouldn't be bad as a back road. I think I will take your suggestion and plan for that route.

US 41, running E to W leg is great for seeing things, but once you get to where it turns North, get on I 75. The S to N leg of US 41 is nearly always congested, with stop lights just like driving through a large metropolitan area with encapsulated towns, which in reality you are.

US 41, great scenic route, especially watch for all the alligators in the ditches, I bet we saw more than 50

No problems at all with traffic.

We made this trip from Key Largo to Ft Myers in Oct. across R.41..........wonderful 2 lane road, take your time and stop and check out the wild life along the way. 60 mph during the day 45 mph nighttime.
We did use I-75 (Alligator Alley) to return to Key Largo, due to it was night time. 4 lane, and 75 mph....................to get back home. Nothing special about I-75! High speed interstate is all.
