Lake Tahoe to Glacier route?

We are heading from Lake Tahoe area to Glacier in June (then Banff). Should have about two weeks to make the trip. Aside from going to SLC and up 15, what other routes are recommended. Rather not hang in SLC. Been there - done that.

We could go up 395 out of Reno and work our way to 20 / 84 boise and up to Ketchum on 93.

Or B line to SLC, the up I-15 to Jellystone for a week. (Been there before)

Is there any thing in the Butte area worth stopping at. We are cyclist so any tips towards good cycling is great.

Thanks for any ideas.

This would be the way we would go. Beautiful drive.

However, June might be too ambitious of a time to be able to cross the Canadian border for recreation. You need to plan this trip by ear to see how COVID-19 is doing.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, it being Summer i went ahead and booked the Banff back before the virus hit. IF we can’t get in Canada, we’ll head to Colorado or somewhere else up high. Got my fingers crossed that by end end of June we will be able to cross. Reserved Banff on June 28 for two weeks.

If you enjoy the smaller awesome highways look at routing this:

395>20>84>30>72>55>17>21>75>93>43>15

The 30 thru to 75 slower but so pretty. Then 93 and 43 some of prettiest highways in northwest!

I will take a look. We have plenty of time to get from Lake Tahoe to West Glacier.

Another variable; Canada has closed all of their ports until at least July 1.
This may be a factor in the border opening. We loved our trip to Banff and Jasper last September!

We're going to be going in the opposite direction from Glacier to Lake Tahoe. We are going to go through Coeur d'Alene, and then down the 395. I just hope everything is open.

Call ahead to check the status of your reservation on the Canadian side .

North of the border nearly all summer activities have been cancelled , Canada Day ; July first ; celebrations are shut down , Calgary Stampede , cancelled for the first time ever. Canadian National Parks may not be open at all by June/July.
