Las Vegas to Port Townsend WA
Heading to our first workamping adventure, we live in Henderson/Las Vegas and our RV GPS is sending us into Utah, bit of Idaho, Oregon and then in to Washington. We're okay with this route, as coming home, approx early August, we plan on heading down coasts of Washington, Oregon and Northern California, down to Yosemite and home to Vegas. To simplify lol, I will request for ideas for return trip in separate post.
Would appreciate any ideas, parks etc to stop at on this route. The plan is to be on the road by May 21, contingent on our leveler part coming in on time and installed :/. This will mean we'll be traveling over Memorial Day holiday. In penciling in approximately 250+/- miles a day, we should be near Tri-cities Area- wine country around the holiday weekend. That sounds like a good place to explore to me, but am also open to any lake, mountain area. Any advice, warnings, or ideas are welcome. We have a class A 32' pursuit and are dolly towing a VW Eos.
Thanks in advance
Regina

The simplest route is 95 north to 80, west to Reno, 395 north to Susanville, 89 and 44 to Mt Shasta, I-5 north to Olympia exit 104, 101 to Quillcene, then on to Port Townsend.
Overnight in Hawthorne, NV , Medford, OR, then your choice either before or after Portland.

TriCities is an oasis in the middle of a desert IMHO. The only thing there that would meet your criteria is the Columbia River. A little further north is the Yakima Valley tghat might interest you. You might consider starting the suggested routes but stay on 395 to the Mr Hood/Columbia River area. You should be able to find some nice spots in that area, then follow 80 west to I5 and head north. Portland to Port Townsend is in the neighborhood of 250 mikes or so.
You will likely need reservations for the holiday weekend and avoid travel on the Monday if you can.

I just left Vegas last Monday and I'm heading to Olympia Washington. I took the route Less Traveled. In Tonopah I headed north to Battle Mountain over to Winnemucca and then took Highway 140 up to Lakeview. Then headed north on 395 and cut off on 31 up to Lapine. From there it's Highway 97 to 26, that will bring me out in Portland. Most people told me to avoid 140, the road was just desolate. I found it to be truly amazing scenery and not hard drive at all. Hope that helps

Just to add, drove to Battle Mountian the first night. Just across I-80 is a nice rv park, clean restrooms, level sites.
2 block walk to restaraunt.
Next night stayed just north of Summer Lake at Ana Reservoir rv park.
Small park, tight sites, kinda level. Probably would do that one different if I was there again.
The Hot Springs rv looked worse.
