Leesburg Florida to Sanford Florida

Anyone have any information about us 441 to Florida 46 from Leesburg Florida to Sanford Florida? We are 39 ft MH pulling a car box trailer. Is this route suitable for a big rig? Thanks for any information.

You'll hit some traffic through Tavares but it shouldn't be too bad; I did most of that route a few years ago 36' DP and don't recall any excitement. It's all truck-grade roads and the only reasonable way to go.

If I was to do it I'd do Sunday if possible for minimun traffic.

SR 46 is a little narrow after you turn east from US441 but goes to 4 lanes closer to Sanford. Drive at a reasonable speed and you will be fine.

I drive it (in a car) quite frequently between Sanford and Mount Dora for photoshoots, and occasionally to Tavares. US441, while congested is a nice 4 (to 6) lane with median. SR46 is two lane and significant construction making a parallel (eventually toll) highway, interweaving with existing SR46, that will complete the full circle route around Orlando. Even under construction, it is heavily traveled by heavy trucks, 18 wheelers, and RV's and traffic flow is fairly good. There are a couple of RV campgrounds along the way, particularly around the Wekiva River, and I see trailers, 5th wheelers and Class A's entering the highway all the time.
