Limon to Brush Colorado???

Anybody travelled CO 71 between Limon and Brush Colorado?

I looked on Google Earth but would like to hear from someone who has actually driven the route ...

I am considering this as a route to avoid driving through Denver

Overall not a bad road, but you could always bypass Denver by taking E470. Its a toll road but its much faster depending on where you're coming from.

I try to use that route all the time with my rig so to avoid Denver. The surface is starting to get kinda rough, but it still better than fighting the Denver traffic. I was just across it last week with my coach.

Thanks for the recommendation ...

I drove north on 71 several days ago ... the surface was not bad (better than US 24 between Colorado Springs and Limon) ... I travelled at highway speed ... I could see beforehand from Google Earth that the shoulders were non-existent ...

In my case, I avoided Denver traffic and a storm that was rolling in from the foothills

FYI: The tolls to go around Denver on E-470 for a 3 axle coach with a toad, (5 total axles), is about $70.
