We are going to be traveling from Tuckerton Nj to Magnolia Tx in 2 weeks. I am looking for route suggestions. I had AAA do a trip tik for traveling with a TT. They recommend nj turnpike to pa turnpike to rt 81. I have traveled 81 before but never with the TT. I am concerned about the ups and downs on 81 with the TT. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

I like taking the ferry at Cape May and avoiding Baltimore and Washington which can be a nightmare. The RV goes right on the ferry. I would take a ride over to the ferry in a car first and check it out.
I have travelled I80 through PA, ( hills aren't bad and no tolls ) , To I76 to I71 in Ohio. Follow I71 southwest to Louisville, Ky, and then I65 south from there.

It will require serious diversion to by-pass Baltimore and DC. But if you get AAA to route you to Nashville and then down the Natchez Trace (444 miles of no stops no hills and 50MPH strickly enforced) to Natches. Then south to Baton Rouge and from there across LA and Conroe TX to Montgomery. This will be a very pleasant drive. The rural roads of Texas are good and have a 70MPH speed limit but if you don't want to go that fast, don't worry, they will pass.

I agree with MattC about the Natches trace, but also would stay off the interstates as much as possible. I just love the back roads. But, I know not everyone does.
