Low stress route, southern Delaware to S. Portland Maine?

Title says it. Will be driving 38' class A from lower De to S.Portland Maine. I do not want the I-95 corridor, and would go out of the way for a longer, but easier drive, possibly even somewhat scenic drive, to Portland. Haven't been to the N.E. states in more than 20 years. So what do you all say?

Other question is are there any State parks, County parks or CG near Portland, that would likely be open in early/mid-October?

Thanks for you thoughts and suggestions.

I understand completely

I get that - 95 is just better off completely avoided if possible.

I would start by looking into getting away from 95 north near the Philadelphia Airport and getting on 476N (Blue Route) and circumventing Philly and the GW Bridge by exploring Scranton, Hershey Park, maybe the Renaissance Fair in Manheim, PA, (Herrs has a potato chip factory tour but is currently closed). We love Lake Placid/Lake George but its not very RV friendly, we love the finger lakes which ARE (mostly) RV friendly (Watkins Glen near Ithaca is a must-see hike). We love Ricketts Glen waterfall hikes in PA (if you can get a campsite!)

Theres not much in CT and Mass, so if you have the time, a roundabout tour of the Catskill Mountains is a much nicer trek. Then maybe bear east thru NH and VT with a stop in North Conway (foliage train ride). You can power through 95 in 10 hours or so or you can meander through the foliage and enjoy some great overnight stops.

Hit me up for details and drive safe!

There is no easy route from the DELMARVA to ME.

It's complicated but cross 95, skirt PHL as distant as possible, then avoid NYC as distant as possible.

What happens next depends on where you cross the Hudson. Anything that goes through CT is no picnic either.

There are so many options, involving so many road changes all depending on time available & stomach for traffic.
