I’m thinking about going down 15 in PA and MA then picking up 495 on the west side of DC to 95 south. In a previous life I used to drive tractor trailer from CT to VA and used that way to avoid NYC and Baltimore. Haven’t driven that route in 30+ years so hopefully 15 is still a good road.

Heading south I wouldn't get onto I95 anywhere north of US17 in Fredrick. I would avoid Wash. DC most any time.

You WILL find heavy traffic on I-75 from Ocala, FL on south. Add in a accident or 2 and you can be guaranteed of a delay.

PattyAnn,scroll back down to Cousin Ed 's routes and these are the ones you want to write down.....they are by far the best you can get
We have done the Ct to Florida and reverse probably 3 times a year for past 15 years nd there just isn't any other way that is as dependable
If we knew when you were going, from where in Mass and how !ong you like to drive each day,....we can give you some campgrounds to stay at
Enjoy ,it's not a bad run at all...C

I just noticed you are going to Tamps...so once you get to I-95 and into Florida....take exit 373 rt 200 toward Baldwin...til you get to Florida rt 301.....take this straight to I-75.down thru Starke...nice ride ,4 lane road and much less traffic....C

That's my favorite route too, except for Rt 209 which is kind of slow, and tight for a big rig. I take 84 to 380 to 81 South. There is a really good overnight boondocking site at Mohegan Sun Casino in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Park on the outer edge of the parking lot on the west side of the casino.
