I would like to take a different route leaving Acadia National Park instead of 295/95 going S to NY..would like to know how Rte 2 would be getting to 91.

Route 2 is a good road, you won't have a problem with it. Slower, but more scenic. If you are not in a hurry I think you will enjoy it.
