We are going to the RV Show in Hershey. We will be traveling east from Mercer, Pa, on I-80 in our 40 ft motorhome towing a Jeep. Any recommendations of which route to take southbound from I-80? I was thinking of taking Rt 322 from State College to Harrisburg but I'm not sure which roads to take from I-80 to State College. For that matter, is 322 a good road for a 40 footer to be traveling? Thanks ahead of time for any recommendations.

Terry,
It's probably best to use US 220 at I-80 Exit 161 to State College area to get to US 322. From Boalsburg to Potters Mills 322 is two lane but a good road. The rest is 4-lane and scenic travelling. At Potters Mills you have the only real climb over a mountain(?) on the way to Harrisburg.
You'll follow signage for US322 the rest of the way to the Hershey area. Your route through the Harrisburg area following US322 - I-81N, I-83S - can be hectic depending on the time of day.
Safe miles to you.

I prefer 11 and 15 to Harrisburg. I think it is a nicer route.

Thanks for the info. We will take one way into the area and the other when leaving, that way we will enjoy both routes.

Terry, Once you get to Harrisburg on either 322 or 11/15 I would suggest taking 81N to exit 77 which is RT 39. This will take you right to the Giant Center RV show. Rt 39 is 2 lane but good road. Enjoy the show and the area.
