Minneapolis across UP Mich and Canada to Ottawa or Toronto

Looking to take this route and then South into New York Finger Lakes Region. Don’t know much about roads from UP MI across Canada above the Great Lakes. Are roads good and places to Camp readily available. Prefer at least W/E hookups.

Roads are generally OK, but there are no interstates to speak of, it's almost all two lane. There are plenty of campgrounds both public and private. MI state parks have electric hookups, but few of them have water/sewer.

Not sure if you want to enjoy the drive or get to your destination, if looking for a nice relaxed drive #8 across the top of Wisconsin is a great drive, lots of small towns for breaks or beautiful scenery. Tie into Michigan's hwy#2 into Escanaba Mi
OR you can cross lower down using I-94 to Chippewa falls, hwy 29 to Wausau up to Hwy 64 and east to Michigan, both good roads to get you over to the Wisconcin, Michigan boarder, then up to Escanaba.
From Escanaba take hwy 2 east then take #117 north (Engadine turn off, easy to miss) up to #28 then into Sault Ste Marie.
with family in St Paul we have done both and either is a good choice.
From Sault Ste Marie eastward we have one hwy to Ottawa; Hwy 17 east, the transcanada highway. If Toronto is the choice at Sudbury turn onto hwy 69 takes you right to the heart of TO.
As said Michigan state parks we've used are hydro only with good chance of a dump station but lots of independant ones too.
