How is this road between Montgomery, Alabama and Tifton, Georgia? Coming to Florida the 3rd week of November from SW Michigan and would like to stay on I-65 as far south as possible to avoid Chattanooga and Atlanta with a tow before cutting over to I-75.

I've been on US280 from Montgomery, AL, through Columbus, GA and on to Albany, GA and then 82 to Tifton. It is mostly all 4 lane and nice roads. A few towns but no big deal. We'll be running 82/280 from Tifton again this weekend on our way to Columbus, GA. Just obey the speed limit.

A nice stop to stretch your legs in Weston, GA at Merit Pecan. Nice, friendly country store with clean restrooms and the usual gas station "stuff". My wife won't let me pass it by and always loads up on peans for cooking - so naturally I'm glad to accommodate the stop.

I don't think 82 is 4 lane between Montgomery, AL and Albany, GA.

traveldawg, thanks for the information on that route from Montgomery to Tifton. We’re planning to go that way on our February 2021 trip to Florida. February 2020, we went I-65 to Montgomery, US-231 thru Dothan, AL down to I-10 thru Tallahassee to take US-19 south. Dothan is a stoplight city

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like once you hit columbus you could go over to Perry, Cordele or Tifton. My gps says the shortest route is direct to Perry which puts you on I-75 south fairly quickly.....bob
