Nashville Detour
We'll be going south s through Nashville on Sunday, 12/29. If traffic is significantly backed up, I'm considering taking Briley Pkwy>I-40>I-24> I-440>I-65. Just wondering what folks who are familiar with this route have to say. TIA.

We spent a week in Nashville during Halloween week. Briley Parkway was right outside our campground, Two Rivers RV Park. It was always busy.
Also, the Titans will be out of town that weekend, so that will help with traffic.
It may be best to just take I-65 thru instead of detouring. Pick a time to try to get thru Nashville.

We have done many of things going through Nashville to miss traffic. But on Sunday, I would just go the shortest distance. Traffic always seems to be lighter on Sunday except the major holidays that people would be driving home on Sunday. Easter is an example.

We just returned home from Nashville last weekend, and we traveled the route you're considering on our way to meet friends for dinner in Brentwood. All of those roads, including Briley, are heavily used. I agree with previous commenters - if you're going north to south, just stick with 65 and go straight through. If you can hit it early in the morning, better yet. On Sundays, the traffic should be lighter; if it's not, making the connections you're planning will be more challenging. We were traveling by car on this particular trip, and were actually commenting that the trip south through town (and heading back north) would have been more difficult with the RV.
For anyone traveling east to west (or west to east) who doesn't need to stop in Nashville proper, the 840 loop that swings widely south of town was a pleasure to drive. We owe our friends who live just south of Nashville for that excellent tip.
Travel safely and have a great trip!

Thanks for the advice. Guess we'll just motor on through. We usually check the traffic situation on-line and either stay on 65 or take 24>40>65.

That route works. We spent Thanksgiving week at Two Rivers in Nashville off TN-55 and then headed south that exact way. The main thing is there are several fast lane changes, where you enter one interstate on the far right and your next turn is to the left from the far left lane in a mile or two so you have to cross multiple lanes to get there.
Easily doable if you're paying attention and start moving over earlier rather than later.
