Nashville to Lake City FL
Leaving Nashville, going to Lake City, FL. Want to avoid Atlanta. Need to know how rv friendly route US 82, Alabama to Ga. to I75 , and / or, US 231 in Alabama, down to I10, then over to I 75..
Silverado, pulling 28 foot trailer. [Both routes seem to be 4 lanes. ]
Going thru, or around Atlanta saves about 25 miles, but it is a pain.

A very good way to avoid Atlanta driving from Nashville : 65 all the way down to Montgomery , 231 to Dothan , then 84 to junction to 27 , 27 to Tallahassee 10 to 75. very safe , not much traffiic and easy driving , enjoy your drive

Mostly agree.. I live just south of Birmingham and have just returned from a trip to Jacksonville.
I would stick with I65 to Montgomery and south on 231 but I take 231 all the way to I10. Mostly 4-lane passing through 2 or 3 small towns but usually very easy driving.
