Natchez to New Orleans, Pontchartrain Landing

In the next few weeks we will be coming south on the Natchez Trace on our way to New Orleans. We are looking for advice on the best route from Natchez MS to New Orleans. We plan on staying at Pontchartrain Landing. The choices seem to be Rt.61 to I-10 or Rt.84 to I-55 to I-10. We will be towing the Captiva.

Any and all advice on the routes will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I-55 will put you out closer to New Orleans than Hwy 61 route, however it offers much to see. Take this route and plan to spend extra time getting to NEw Orleans. Especially the large plantations in St. Francisville.

I agree 61 is the far more scenic route
