New Mexico Highways

Does anyone know for certain if the highways such as 191 and the 77 are open all the way? Heading north from Show Low. This is the Navajo Nation and they have had things closed down for a while but I am not sure if the highways are open all the way through.

The only closure on the reservation that I can recall was Gallop, NM.

On the AZ Hwy site it doesn't show any closures.

https://www.az511.com/

From Show Low you'd be taking 77 to I-40. That's not on the reservation. Then if you take I-40 east to 191 north that a major route and I can find nothing on a closure.

If you take 77 north from Holbrook instead of 191 north it is on the reservation so you might want to stop in Holbrook and ask.

Your post heading is for New Mexico. If you're talking about 77 or 191 that's Arizona into Utah.

The reservations in NM are not closing the main highways. They are only closing off access into the reservation communities. 191 and 77 should be good to go.

Twogypsies, you are correct and I was looking at 491 when I was thinking the route. Thanks for the responses, looks like we will head up the 191 on our way to Delores Colorado. I like to stay clear of reservations but they encompass so much land it is impossible.
