New Mexico I-40 Overnight Stop

I want to transit thru New Mexico on 140 which is about 400 miles from border to border so I don’t think I can do the whole 400 miles in one stop... I want to do one overnight stop at a rest area or truck stop - Would that be allowed?...

Any recommendations of stops west of Albuquerque?

Rt 66 Casino west of ABQ is where we always overnight or two. There is a truck stop adjacent to the casino and I think you can overnight there at no charge, but doublecheck that. The casino has an outstanding campground that we utilize.

We drove across New Mexico twice last fall - eastbound on I-40 and westbound on I-10. We noted at the time that most of the rest stops on I-40 in NM were closed. All Stays Rest Stop app says there were no rest stops west of Albuquerque open as of this past March. Google map reviews might have more current information. You might want to check out the large parking lot adjacent to the Love’s just west of Albuquerque.

New Mexico I40 Overnight Stop

Big rest areas at MM235 East of Flagstaff. Stayed there a few times. I do not know if they are open.

Dancing Eagle Casino mm108. In July they were closed due virus. They do take reservations, but only about 7 pull through sites. They have several back in sites.

Another 12 miles west is Sky City. It is a Good Sam park, but higher price than Dancing Eagle. easy pull through sites, but you have to go to hotel to register. Security will shuttle.

If you want a cheap option, consider Cline Corner RV park, they have 36 RV sites, and take online site specific reservations, and only cost $25 per night for full hookup pull through sites next door to the store / gas station.

Another vote for Sky City casino RV park. Around $20 per night. We stay there whenever traveling I40.
