Oil field workers in Texas

Just called our favorite place in Colorado City tx and they were full of oil field workers. What is the rest of 20 going west look like for places to overnight? Van Horn is 500 miles from starting point, double, but very tiring.
Any suggestions?

If you just need to overnight, how about the Walmart in Big Spring or the Rest area at MM 200?

Texas rest areas are excellent places to overnight. We have done it several times. The on I-20 just west of Ranger Hill in Eastland county is really nice. There are several more to choose from before Van Horn too.

We live in Big Spring and come to the State Park here at Lake Colorado City for enjoyment. Time away from the house.

Hope you had a good stay!
