Orlando to Marathon

My trip planner has me going down 75, but there is also an inland route.

Will be pulling a 27 ft TT.

I assume 75 will be traffic and sections of bad road, but no idea about 27. An experience would be helpful.

I have taken RT 27 a few times. Its not bad, but does go thru towns, so it's a slower ride.

Some days, I like to stay off the interstates and see the real country, rather then the billboards with lawyers faces on them.

As mentioned 27 can be slow because off the small towns you have to travel through but it's not bad. I've taken 27 from the pan handle down, won't do that again. The northern section is really slow, lots of town and stop lights and more traffic. Once you're down farther, like Orlando, it get's better and I still run that section down. Maybe not as fast as 75 but after 3 days of interstate it's a nice break for me.

We always take 27, in part because our park is right on 27 (at the intersection with I-4). We have gone via 75 and I find the time comparable as the 27 route is slightly shorter in terms of miles, at least for us. It's 4 to 6 lanes the entire way. Yes, there are a few towns to go through, most of the congestion being within 30 miles of I-4, but not all. Most of the route is wide open space, sugar cane fields and cattle pasture. The towns are small and "quaint".

A low stress, scenic route is state route 29 south to US41 east. Turn south on state route 997 which will dump int US1 in Florida City.
