PA to Elkhart, IN ?

Any suggestions for a route from the SE area of PA to Elkhart, Indiana ? We are planning a trip in a couple of months and was wondering if there is an alternate route other than using the PA Turnpike to the Ohio Turnpike that would be good for RV travel ?

Thanks for any help!

PA TP plainly sucks and is too much $ with a MH.

I-80 to Ohio is our normal route. Harrisburg, 322 to I-80.

After that it doesnt matter much, but we prefer I-80 to I-76 in Ohio, to I-71 to old US Hwy 30. Will cost you an hour or two over-all but is more scenic. And no tolls!

Happy trails!

So far I have not found a state highway that was not suitable for an RV. I'm sure there are some but they are few and far between. If your not in a hurry these are often more interesting to drive than interstates. State and local highways are DW and myself preferred travel, much more to see. We do check them out on our RMcNally GPS first, rather DW checks them out first. She has the hard part, navigator, I just keep it between the lines.

US30 is a nice route across Ohio & Indiana that will get you close to Elkhart.

I travel from Ohio to PA (Philly area) a couple of time per year. About 3 years ago I quit going via the PA turnpike and using 80,well worth it the road is in much better shape. Once you get into Ohio when 80 turns into the Ohio turnpike take 76 and avoid that toll.
