Pennsylvania Interstates

Recently took I-81 south from Scranton to I-80 westbound. This has got to be the worst section of interstate highway in America! Every road-seam ( and countless potholes) banged my 40 ft Deisel pusher, and jarred every bone in our bodies! I would avoid at all cost. On the way back east on our return trip, we stayed on I-80 (smooth as silk, by the way) until we picked up I-380 to Scranton. Added about 15 minutes, but that section of highway was in excellent shape. Worth the detour!

Having to use PA interstates discourages us from going anywhere in New England or the Canadian Maritimes. We will take the worst that the Alaska highway can throw at us any day over a PA interstate.

I-80 is in excellent shape. We take I-80 to I-380 to I-84 to I-90. All good road. On the maps, I-88 from Binghamton to Albany looks interesting, but I-88 is another bus-banging mess of potholes and seems. Avoid I-88 at all cost
