Pensacola Fl to Chattanooga Tn route

What is the easiest flattest route to Chattanooga Tn from Pensacola Fl? Would like to avoid Atlanta but also don’t want any steep grades or crazy curves. Also in recommendations for 1 night stop over half way?

I’d cut straight up to Atmore, Alabama then take 65 to Birmingham then 59 over to Chattanooga. Easy drive and good roads. Was one very small rough spot on I65 as you enter Birmingham. Can’t recommend a place to stay but Birmingham about half way. Safe travels.

27 is a decent way to go south-north through GA. Not a huge fan of Birmingham.

Dothan isn't bad but haven't been between there and Columbus, we are usually going the other way

US 27 up to Rome, get on I-75 and run the rest of the way up.

We have been on the I-59 & I-65 route a couple of times. On I-59 is a small town called Fort Payne, Al., this is where the group Alabama calls home. They do have a small museum and in the town's center are statues to the group.

Also, there is a BBQ place just about 1 mile from there that is really great BBQ. It is called "The BBQ Place". We went there in 2019 and had lunch with Jeff Cook and his wife Lisa.
Stop over is worth the time.
There is plenty of room to park in the parking lot of the museum.
