Phoenix to Bellingham

We are planning a trip from Phoenix AZ to Bellingham, WA to visit our daughter. We are pulling a 30 foot Grand Design 5th wheel with a newer Ford 250 SD 7.3 gasser with a 10 speed transmission. We will be approaching WA on US 82 to Ellensburg and then would like to go up I-97 through Leavenworth, using I-2 back to US-5 at Everett, trying to avoid Seattle traffic and take a more scenic route.

Is the route from Leavenworth to Everett too tough with our equipment?

We are going to end up at The Cedars RV Park in Ferndale.

Any insite, comments or advise is appreciated.

We drove from Leavenworth to Everett in late April, and it was not bad. Still skiing at Snoqualmie Pass ski area, so it's pretty high. It was a late Spring, so maybe not normal?

The road climbs pretty slow, so not a big problem. Plenty of passing lanes also, so take your time.

Enjoy Leavenworth. Lots of great murals and walking around you will be sure to find a fine meal if it's lunch time.

Ellensburg to Leavenworth will be a good pull also, but plenty doable.

Hwy 2 can be narrow in spots and is very twisty. Doable in your rig but much better on a motorcycle. :^)

Traffic can get pretty bad around Monroe. On the Summer weekends Leavenworth can get quite crowded too, parking can be hard to find, and traffic will back up there too.

Certainly the scenic route.
