It is a good road with plenty of passing lanes and nice campgrounds. Gas and diesel are readily available. A particularly picturesque cg is Juniper Beach on the Thompson river east of Cache Creek, it can be seen from the highway. The only downside is noise from main railway lines on both sides of the river.
