Rapid City to Lake Havasu

I will be traveling from Rapid City to Lake Havasu at the end of Sept. Not sure if I should take I-70 west from Denver (going thru the Eisenhower tunnel) to I-15 south thru Las Vegas or stay on
I-25 south from Denver to I-40 West at Albuquerque. I’m a little worried about the weather on I-70. Your thoughts?

I would not go west on 70. If I thought weather might be a problem I would go south to Albuquerque then west, even though it is 100 miles farther.

I live in Lake Havasu and have done both of those routes in our DP.......the easiest way is I25 to I40, less climbing and better roads actually.

We did a loop this summer that was out on the 15/70 and back on the 25/40 and the latter roads are in way better shape!!

Safe travels!
