There is a beautiful RV Resort Called Cajun Palms RV Resort in Breaux Bridge, La., I would recommend as a stop. If you use the app "Upscale RV Resort" it is on there. It is really nice place. Wife wants to spend some more time there next year, so she told me to schedule at least 4 days there as a stopover.

hamm 2018 Thanks for the recommendation. We have our reservations pretty well set up, but Cajun Palms will go in the notebook. Were there restaurants that you would recommend while at Cajun Palms?

.
I'll try to update as we head west. I've read that T Mobile may be a little problematic in the rural areas out west.

Once we leave Vidor Tx., we will have 3 more stops in Tx. and then Tucson. It will be I 10 all the way to Sun City.

Came thru Houston on Tuesday around 11:30am. Stayed on I 10 thru town.No slowdown until the construction West of Katy (construction Starts around MP 732 and ends around MP 710), but I was able to maintain 60 MPH. K rails are used all thru this construction area. 2 lanes maintained.

On I 10 East of San Antonio, construction started around MP 395 and ended around MP 583. Went thru San Antonio today on I 10 around 9:30am and was able to maintain 60 MPH thru town. More K rails but not as many as the previous constriuction area. 2 lanes maintained also.

Be alert that as you go thru San Antonio, I 10 and I 35 run together for a short distance. Where I 10 heads West, it splits into 2 different lanes. 1 lane leads into a Upper Bridge Deck, and the other lane leads to a Lower Bridge Deck. They both come together in 3/4 mile.

This whole trip from Beaumont to Fort Stockton (I 10 all the way) was uneventful.

Will leave for El Paso tomorrow am.

We left for El Paso Friday Morning via I 10.

There were 7 areas of construction where the Right Lanes were closed for Bridge Work. Generally from about a mile before the bridge to just after the bridge (less than 2 miles).

7 different areas between MP 155 to MP 80. Traffic was light (10;00am) so no slowdowns. some of these looked like they they may be finished soon.

Coming into El Paso, lots of traffic (around Noonish), but maintaining 60 MPH. When you get to MP 20 plan to stay in the Middle or Left Lane as the Right Lane is closed, and traffic will come to a standstill.

Once you clear this, it is generally smooth sailing to N.M. MP 162 signs indicated that the Right lane is closed. We couldn't confirm that as we got off at the previous exit.

Generally, the pavement conditions were good, but there always going to be some rough spots.

We left El Paso (actually Anthony, NM)on Sat AM for Tucson.
No issues until the construction at MP 22 (Lordsburg). I 10 splits before the bridge into 2 lanes. The LEFT Lane is I 10 where as the RIGHT Lane becomes the Exit Ramp to Main Street.
If you need Fuel, take the exit onto Main Street, and follow the I 10 West signs. there is a Love's Truck Stop on the route. You can re-enter I 10 West at the next exit (MP 20).

There was a message board stating that I 10 was closed past MP 292
(US 90). It wasn't closed at the time that we went thru.

Once you get into AZ, in the Right Lane, you can tell that it has had its share of truck traffic. Also as you approach Tucson, plenty of tar strips to keep you awake. This condition continues all the way to PHX.
Not necessarily rough, but you will be glad when I 10 transisions to 3 or more lanes so you can move out of the Right Lane.

Hope that this helps.

To get to the west side of Phoenix, last year we took the 202 west. It reconnected with I-10 on the west side, missed downtown, airport all of that area by doing this.
The 202 may not show on some GPS, or show not recommended, but it is now completely all the way to I-10 west. Not very much traffic, quick route to avoid downtown tunnels, airport area.

Drove that area two weeks ago. Definitely spend as much time as you can in the left lane. When in the right lane, put the right tires on the white line. A bit smoother there.

This is true, I considered this stretch tolerable.

There is no comparison between this section, and I 10 in Louisiana.
