Road Trip Green Bay, WI to Fremont, CA

Considering taking a road trip from Green Bay to Fremont with the motorhome and toad in mid July. It is a 34 ft. 2008 gasser towing an Equinox. I have two questions:

1. Should I?
2. If yes, what would be the least stressful route?

The alternative is to road trip it with the car only.

We went to Las Vegas in late October 2017, and took I-40 the whole way to Kingman, AZ then went North on US 93.

Just my two cents, if you go I-40, you can stop at places like Grand Canyon NP (take 2 days), Painted Desert NP, Petrified Forest NP (you can drive thru both with MH towing and have no problems), Meteor Crater, and other sights along the way.

Unfortunately, I40 has construction zones, but what interstate doesn't this time of year?

Once you get west of Albuquerque, NM and get up in the high desert mountains, the daytime temps are usually cooler.
