Rochester NY to Rehoboth Beach Delaware

Last year, RV trip wizard took me through PA on Rt. 81. The road was really rough. Any suggestions for smoother routes?
Thank you,

A friend takes I 99 to 15 and then I 99 again on the way to Florida from Finger Lakes region. He picks up I 81 further south.

I know I 99 is a good interstate.

I go to Geneva and down 14 thru Watkins Glen. I then pickup Interstate 86 to Binghamton 81 South. From there you have a choice of 476 (toll road) to West side of Philly or take 81 to Harrisburg them East. Harrisburg is way out of the way but no toll. There is another route in Pa & I cannot remember the number. It is between 81 & 476. 81 from Binghamton is not rough. I just did it twice in past month. Check a map.

Thanks

Thank you all for the route advice. Nice to know that 81 is not a mess!

I live along your route. I’ve take every crazy route in 23 yrs of RVing.
If I was going to Rehoboth from Rochester
This is the route.
390 to 86 to 81 to 83 to 95, go north to 1. Then to the beach.
Traffic would be crazy no matter what
If you have the TSD card you have a couple TAs to fill up.
I filled up in Binghamton last Saturday for $4.40/ gal

Haven't driven a RV this route. But have gone this way a few times to Slaughter Beach. Roads can get a bit tight. But not bad. Sightseeing with a RV to areas around slaughter beach could be a challenge. It would matter on when you want to go. If you go there to see the horseshoe crab thing. Then it could get busy. We've gone at the end of it. Still plenty to see. But not as crowded.
