Rock Springs, Wy to Breckenridge Tiger Run

I'd love to travel cross country to Breckenridge without going all the way to I-70 West via I-25 South. We're in our American Revo (43') with toad. Looking for ideas for best routing. Not familiar with southbound roads between Rock Springs and Laramie into Colorado. Thanks

From Rock Springs with our 40' motorhome towing the Jeep we've taken WY780 at I-80/Exit 187 which becomes CO13. Take 13 south toward Craig, CO to I-70 at Rifle, CO.

From Rock Springs a good trip - for me - would be around the west side of Flaming Gorge to Dino NM on down to Rifle And to I-70 Breck and Tiger Run.

You could also head to/through Craig and Rt 40 pass Yampa SP and on to Steamboat - to Kremmling, Taking Rt 9 down to Silverthorne and Breck - easy and scenic - this might be just the easy route to Breck.

Rt 125 to Walden and Rt 14 to Kremmling and then on down to Silverthorne and Breck.

All of the above routes were just great when we took them a few years ago,

Hope this is of some help.

This is a beautiful drive but Rt. 9 between Kremmling and Dillon/Silverthorne has had some pain in the you-know-what construction going on. Frequently, the road is down to one lane, and for several miles, you're driving on hacked up roadway (they are repaving).

Normally, I'd recommend that drive as it is beautiful, but the construction will make you miserable. Thus, for this summer only, I recommend an alternative route.

Have a fun trip.
