Route 287 , Montana

We're currently camped near East Glacier NP and will be heading south through Browning to Helena for a night and then on to West Yellowstone. I plan to use 89 from Browning south and then pick up 287 towards Helena. From Helena I plan to use 287 to West Yellowstone. I pull a mid size FW. I'm looking for feedback/input on choosing route 287. Is it a good road to use? I have the option of heading east from Browning on 2 and then south on I-15 but that's a longer route.

Thanks in advance !

You're good to go on 287!! How was weather at Glacier? It's kind of early.

Thanks for the response tg's. We'll head that way tomorrow.

As for the weather at GNP, we arrived Wed. to mostly clear skies and saw beautiful peaks all around us. Since that time it's been cloudy with snow on and off. Afraid we won't see much else before we go.

We had to come a little early for a variety of reasons . Next time it will be later in the season. Headed to Yellowstone, Bryce and Zion from here. Should be better down there .
