Route 4 Orlando FL.
Heading back down to Disney. Been over a year. Any improvements with the construction on Route 4?

If you’re coming from Tampa no change. If you’re coming from the North, it’s a mess. I’ve not really driven North in the RV but we were north of the city 2 weeks ago and it was not a fun drive back south.

I was just there. I-4 is hideous from Tampa to I-95. Suggest Sunshine State Parkway.

I would take I-4 to 46 in Sanford and 46 to 429 that puts you right at Disney.

Forget I-4. Take 417 at Sanford right to Disney.

Looks like maybe you are coming from NJ. So I'll assume you are coming down I-95. And I'll make another assumption you want to travel I-4 from Daytona to Disney.
If you can stand the crowds at Disney, you can handle the crowds on I-4. But it is no better than last year, or the year before that, or the year before that, or the year..... welll...... you get the idea.
If you like less crowded roads and can handle about $10 or $12 in tolls (less than the NJ I'll guess (oh and that Deleware bridge) then maybe I-95 to FL 407, to FL 528, to FL 417. I think maybe your EZPass will work; check the FL SunPass site to see.

Geography not your strong suit?
Or were you referring to the Turnpike?

We ran from VT to Disney last summer, probably a similar path as you are looking at. The last 40 miles of the drive on I4 were definitely the most crowded and white knuckled part. Downtown Orlando is “fun” with all the construction.
If memory serves, we rolled through around 1pm middle of the week, traffic was solid, but it was moving.

Construction aside, Rt 4 has been classified as one of the most dangerous roads in the U.S. Chuck

I was traveling east on I4 yesterday from 417 to Deland. The west bound side was stop-an-go the entire way. What took me 1/2 hour to travel was probably taking them 2+ hours.

I agree with Traveldawg's suggestion. We drive by Disney regularly taking that same route. 417 bypasses everything and takes you right to (or by) Disney. I wouldn't drive through the "ultimate I-4" construction when I could take a much easier route. My .02
