Route Advice Ashville NC. to Lewisburg W.Va.

I am making some travel plans to attend the Newmar International Rally in Lewisburg W. Va (July 16-24)

Prior to that is scheduled a Newmar Caravan which ends in Asheville NC July 13. (June 27-July 13)

This will leave 3 days travel time from Ft. Chiswell RV Park in Max Meadows Va; to Lewisburg W. Va.

My plotted route at this time is I-81 back to I-77 N, to U.S. Rt. 460, to U.S. Rt. 219 to Lewisburg. Plan to make it a 2 day trip.

Has anyone ever traveled U.S. Rt. 219 from Rich Creek W. Va. to Lewisburg W. Va.? If so, is the road ok to travel with a 38' coach towing a Terrain?

I could re-route I-77 to I-64, but a much greater driving distance, or could re-route I-81 to I-64, again at a much greater driving distance.

What might be your ADVICE or RECOMMENDATION!

Thanks!!

Spent a month and many miles in West Virginia - Follow the Rivers ( think the New River might be on your route) - or stay on the Interstates - the old roads over the mountains can be more than a Little challenge. Had to drive a bit of RT 33 after a couple months in the Rockies - in a lot of those mountains and gravel roads - in WV they just paved the gravel roads over the mountains. -

In the months in the Rockies never an issue - after the few hours on RT 33 my arms were sore the next day, from so much DRIVING!

Sorry not real help other than to follow the water.

Best of Luck,

Has no one ever driven this highway?

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't either!

Unless it's changed alot, US-219 is a curvy mountain road that I would avoid in my coach, I would take I-77 north and I-64 east.
