RT 220 I-73 I-74 between I-81 and I-95

I would appreciate anyone’s feedback on the route I’ve cited above between Roanoke Virginia and heading towards I 95 around Dillon South Carolina.

Decent drive. Construction in/around Winston Salem. A few stoplights to go through in Rockingham, then mostly straight shot on to 95 at Lumberton.

I drive this all the time.
Be careful on the VA side of it. Windy, hilly ,narrow 4 lane that runs like a roller coaster to the NC line. All good after that. Have fun on that big hill going out of Roanoke. The down side has a light that will change on you so watch that .

Follow the new section of I 73 just south of Madison NC. It will get you around Greensboro faster with much less traffic. Once your on the NC side of 220/ 73 your good to 95 south in SC. Easy drive and nice views. Enjoy the trip and be careful and safe.

I see you are from W NY as we are. We are near Corning NY and have come S that way and it is good with the exception of some windy hilly stuff on 220 but that is a fairly short section.
Another option we have used a lot and like is From I81 near Staunton take I68 to Rt 29 S. 29 is 4 lane divided but has some grade crossings and only a few lights. It also has bypasses around towns. I840 to I85 gets you to I73 and then I74 to Lumberton.
We are leaving FL Sun and plan to run this way back to NY
Travel safe
